MAINSTREET PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: September 22, 2026
Last Updated: September 22, 2026
Republican Main Street Partnership (“RMSP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Mainstreet mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, “Mainstreet” or the “Service”).
Mainstreet is a virtual town hall designed to allow Americans to participate in civic and political discussion, communicate about public policy, hear from elected officials and other political participants, and receive information concerning legislation, elections, voter participation, candidates, and other matters of public concern.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.
1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NATURE OF MAINSTREET
Mainstreet is operated by a public-policy and political advocacy organization.
By becoming a Mainstreet member, you should expect RMSP to communicate with you about public policy and politics. These communications may include:
• legislation and public-policy issues;
• RMSP policy positions;
• voter-registration information and deadlines;
• early-voting and Election Day reminders;
• civic participation;
• Members of Congress;
• candidates for public office;
• RMSP endorsements;
• communications supporting or opposing candidates;
• campaign-related information;
• events and opportunities to participate; and
• other political, electoral, or civic matters consistent with RMSP's mission.
Mainstreet is not intended to be politically neutral with respect to communications made by RMSP. RMSP may advocate for its positions and for candidates or elected officials it supports, subject to applicable law.
Your use of Mainstreet does not require you to agree with any particular political position.
2. PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INFORMATION ARE TREATED DIFFERENTLY
Mainstreet is designed as a virtual town hall.
Information that you intentionally post in community areas of Mainstreet—including comments, policy proposals, responses, questions, votes or reactions that are identified as visible to other participants—should be considered Community Content.
Depending on the feature, Community Content may be visible to:
• other Mainstreet members;
• RMSP personnel;
• moderators;
• participating Members of Congress;
• congressional staff;
• candidates;
• campaign personnel;
• invited policy experts or other authorized participants; and
• other persons whom RMSP permits to participate in the applicable area of Mainstreet. You should not post information as Community Content that you want to remain confidential.
Congressional offices, Members of Congress, candidates, and campaigns do not receive privileged access to your private Mainstreet account information merely because they participate in Mainstreet. Unless otherwise disclosed to you or directed by you, they will not receive information such as your private email address, telephone number, payment information, voter-verification records, private messages, or other nonpublic account information merely by participating in Mainstreet.
3. INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US
Depending upon the features you use, we may collect information including:
A. ACCOUNT AND PROFILE INFORMATION
This may include:
• name;
• email address;
• telephone number;
• residential address;
• city, state, and ZIP code;
• congressional district or other political jurisdiction derived from your address;
• profession or occupation;
• employer, when provided or legally required;
• username or display name;
• profile photograph;
• password or authentication credentials;
• communication preferences; and
• membership status.
B. MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION
Mainstreet membership may require you to affirm or establish certain eligibility requirements. We may collect:
• confirmation that you are at least 18 years old;
• confirmation of United States citizenship;
• state of residence;
• residential address;
• voter-registration verification information; and
• other information reasonably necessary to determine eligibility for Mainstreet features.
We generally seek to collect only the information reasonably necessary for these purposes.
C. IDENTITY VERIFICATION INFORMATION
If Mainstreet uses identity-verification services, we or a verification provider may process information from a driver's license, state identification card, or other identity credential.
Identity-verification information may include:
• name;
• address;
• date of birth or age confirmation;
• document type;
• document validity information;
• verification result; and
• information necessary to detect fraud or confirm identity.
Where reasonably practicable, RMSP seeks to receive a verification result rather than retaining copies of government identification documents.
If a verification process involves additional sensitive information, such as facial comparison or biometric information, Mainstreet will provide any additional disclosure or consent required by applicable law before collecting or processing that information.
Government identification numbers and financial account information will not be made publicly visible through Mainstreet.
D. COMMUNITY CONTENT
We collect information you voluntarily contribute to Mainstreet, including:
• posts;
• policy proposals;
• comments;
• responses;
• questions;
• reactions;
• surveys and poll responses;
• photographs;
• videos;
• audio;
• files;
• reports concerning other users;
• event participation; and
• other material you submit.
Your posts and interactions may reveal political opinions, policy interests, or other information that some privacy laws consider sensitive.
You control whether to contribute Community Content.
E. PRIVATE COMMUNICATIONS
If Mainstreet offers private or direct messaging, we may process those communications to provide the service.
Private communications may also be accessed when reasonably necessary to:
• investigate a reported violation;
• enforce Mainstreet's Terms of Service or Community Standards;
• prevent fraud or abuse;
• protect users or others;
• comply with law; or
• maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
We will not represent private messaging as end-to-end encrypted unless that feature is actually implemented.
4. VOTER-REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Mainstreet may periodically compare information you provide, such as your name and residential address, against voter-registration records or information provided by authorized voter-data providers.
We may use voter-registration information to:
• verify identity or residency;
• confirm information provided by a member;
• identify a member's applicable jurisdiction;
• prevent fraud or duplicate accounts;
• support election and voter-participation features;
• maintain the integrity of Mainstreet membership;
• determine eligibility for particular features where lawful; and
• maintain records of verification.
Where reasonably practicable, Mainstreet will retain a verification result, such as the date and status of verification, rather than maintaining an unnecessary copy of an entire voter file record.
Voter-registration information may be obtained from government records, commercial or nonprofit data providers, or other lawful sources.
A Mainstreet voter-registration check does not determine whether you are legally entitled to vote and should not be relied upon as an official determination of voter-registration status.
5. SUBSCRIPTION AND PAYMENT INFORMATION
Mainstreet may offer monthly subscriptions, lifetime memberships, promotional subscriptions, or other paid services.
Payments may be processed by:
• Apple;
• Google;
• payment processors;
• financial institutions; or
• other authorized payment providers.
Where payment is processed by Apple, Google, or another payment provider, RMSP may receive information such as:
• transaction identifier;
• subscription status;
• purchase date;
• renewal status;
• product purchased;
• amount paid; and
• limited billing information.
RMSP generally does not receive your full payment-card number when payment is handled by an independent payment provider.
Payment providers process information under their own privacy policies and terms.
6. POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS
If Mainstreet provides access to features through which a user may make a political contribution, additional information may be requested by RMSP PAC, a payment processor, or another political committee or recipient.
Information associated with political contributions may include information required by applicable campaign-finance law, such as:
• name;
• address;
• occupation;
• employer;
• contribution amount; and
• contribution date.
Political contributions may be subject to legally required reporting and public disclosure.
Where a contribution is being made to RMSP PAC or another political committee, we will identify the recipient of the contribution.
A Mainstreet membership subscription is separate from a political contribution unless expressly identified otherwise.
7. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
When you use Mainstreet, we and our service providers may automatically receive technical information including:
• IP address;
• device type;
• operating system;
• application version;
• browser type;
• device or application identifiers;
• language settings;
• date and time of access;
• pages or screens viewed;
• features used;
• referring URLs;
• crash reports;
• diagnostic information;
• security events; and
• general interaction information.
We may use this information for security, analytics, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, product improvement, and operation of Mainstreet.
We do not use persistent device identifiers in a manner prohibited by Apple, Google, or applicable law.
8. LOCATION INFORMATION
Mainstreet may infer general geographic information from information such as your residential address, ZIP code, IP address, or voter-registration information.
This may be used to identify your:
• state;
• congressional district;
• legislative district;
• locality; or
• other relevant political jurisdiction.
Mainstreet does not collect precise GPS-based device location unless a feature specifically requires it, the collection is clearly disclosed, and you grant any required device permission.
9. CONTACTS AND REFERRALS
Mainstreet may allow members to refer friends or receive membership benefits for successful referrals.
Where possible, referrals will use methods such as referral links or referral codes rather than requiring broad access to a user's address book.
Mainstreet does not require access to your entire device contact list merely to enable ordinary referral functionality.
If a future feature requests contact access, we will provide any disclosure and permission required by applicable law and applicable platform rules.
10. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We may use information collected through Mainstreet to:

Including to:

Political and election-related communications are an intended feature of Mainstreet. E. Research and Analytics
We may analyze information to:
• understand how Mainstreet is used;
• measure engagement;
• identify policy interests;
• understand broad member sentiment;
• improve features;
• evaluate communications;
• improve membership retention;
• prevent fraud; and
• advance RMSP's organizational purposes.
Where practical for the purpose involved, we may use aggregated or de-identified information rather than directly identifying individual members.
F. PERSONALIZATION
We may use your voluntary interactions to infer topics or policy areas that may interest you and personalize Mainstreet content or RMSP communications accordingly.
We do not sell individualized political profiles to data brokers, advertisers, campaigns, employers, insurers, or other third parties.
11. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND AUTOMATED TOOLS
Mainstreet may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural-language processing, or other automated tools to:
• summarize discussions;
• identify recurring themes;
• organize policy proposals;
• moderate content;
• detect spam or abuse;
• recommend content;
• analyze member feedback;
• generate aggregate reports; and
• improve Mainstreet.
Where reasonably practicable, information unnecessary for an AI-related task—such as payment information, identity-verification information, telephone numbers, email addresses, or residential addresses—will not be supplied to an AI provider for that task.
RMSP may use third-party AI service providers. We require such providers to process Mainstreet data only for authorized purposes and subject to appropriate privacy and security obligations.
Mainstreet personal and sensitive user data will not be provided to a third-party AI provider for the purpose of training that provider's general-purpose models unless that practice is separately disclosed and any required consent is obtained.
We remain responsible for our use of third-party AI tools in connection with Mainstreet.
12. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS, EMAIL, AND TEXT MESSAGES
PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
If you enable push notifications, Mainstreet may send notifications concerning:
• policy discussions;
• new Mainstreet content;
• legislation;
• events;
• voter registration;
• elections;
• endorsements;
• candidates;
• civic participation; and
• other RMSP activity.
You can disable push notifications through your device settings or available Mainstreet settings.
RMSP may send email relating to Mainstreet membership, policy advocacy, political activity, elections, candidates, events, and other organizational purposes.
You may use available unsubscribe or preference-management mechanisms for communications where applicable.
We may continue to send communications reasonably necessary to operate your account even if you opt out of optional communications.
Text Messages
Where RMSP offers text-message communications, we will obtain consent when required by applicable law.
Consent to receive automated promotional or political text messages will not be required as a condition of purchasing a Mainstreet subscription where applicable law prohibits such a requirement.
Instructions for opting out of text messages will be provided with the applicable program. Message and data rates may apply.
13. RMSP PAC
RMSP and RMSP PAC are treated as separate entities for purposes of applicable campaign-finance and other legal requirements.
RMSP may share information with RMSP PAC when the sharing is:
• permitted by applicable law;
• permitted by applicable app-platform rules;
• consistent with this Privacy Policy;
• appropriately disclosed to the user; and
• subject to any consent or other requirement that applies.
Depending on the circumstances, information shared with RMSP PAC may include:
• Community Content that members have made visible to political participants;
• aggregated information;
• de-identified information;
• information relating to an interaction a user initiates with RMSP PAC;
• information a user specifically directs RMSP to provide to RMSP PAC; and
• other information where the transfer is lawfully permitted and appropriately disclosed.
RMSP will not sell personal and sensitive user data collected through Mainstreet in violation of Apple, Google, or other applicable platform requirements.
Where applicable law or platform policy requires separate user action or consent before information may be transferred to RMSP PAC, Mainstreet will provide that choice before making the transfer.
14. MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, CONGRESSIONAL OFFICES, CANDIDATES, AND CAMPAIGNS
Mainstreet may allow Members of Congress, congressional personnel, candidates, campaign personnel, and other political participants to participate in the virtual town hall.
They may, subject to Mainstreet rules:
• watch or read Community Content visible to them;
• post videos;
• answer questions;
• respond to Community Content;
• discuss policy;
• participate in discussions; and
• otherwise use authorized Mainstreet features.
Their participation does not provide them access to private member account information.
RMSP does not provide private member information to a congressional office or campaign simply because the office or campaign participates in Mainstreet.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy authorizes a congressional office, campaign, RMSP, RMSP PAC, or any other participant to use Mainstreet in a manner prohibited by applicable law.
15. OTHER WAYS WE MAY SHARE INFORMATION
We may share information as described below.
A. SERVICE PROVIDERS
We may use vendors that provide services such as:
• cloud hosting;
• data storage;
• cybersecurity;
• authentication;
• identity verification;
• voter-data verification;
• analytics;
• application diagnostics;
• payment processing;
• subscription management;
• email delivery;
• text messaging;
• push notifications;
• customer support;
• moderation;
• fraud prevention; and
• artificial intelligence services.
We require service providers that process personal information on our behalf to provide appropriate protections and use information only for authorized purposes.
B. AT YOUR DIRECTION
We may share information when you request or direct us to do so.
For example, clicking a link to interact with a campaign, signing up for an outside event, making a political contribution, or choosing to send information to another organization may involve a user-directed transfer.
We will identify such transfers where reasonably appropriate.
C. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND PROTECTION OF RIGHTS
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
• comply with applicable law;
• respond to lawful legal process;
• comply with a court order or governmental request;
• investigate fraud;
• enforce our agreements;
• protect the safety of a person;
• protect RMSP's rights or property; or
• maintain the security and integrity of Mainstreet.
We do not promise to disclose information merely because a government agency, elected official, campaign, or other organization requests it. Requests for nonpublic information will be evaluated under applicable law.
D. ORGANIZATIONAL TRANSACTIONS
If RMSP undergoes a merger, restructuring, reorganization, transfer of operations, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice.
16. WHAT WE DO NOT DO
Unless this Privacy Policy is updated and any legally required consent is obtained:
• we do not sell Mainstreet personal or sensitive user data for commercial advertising or data-broker purposes;
• we do not sell individualized political profiles;
• we do not give congressional offices or campaigns unrestricted access to private member information;
• we do not publicly disclose payment-card information or government identification numbers;
• we do not require access to a member's entire contact list merely to enable referrals;
• we do not use Mainstreet member information for third-party behavioral advertising across unrelated apps and websites;
• we do not permit third-party service providers to use Mainstreet personal information for purposes unrelated to providing their authorized services; and
• we do not knowingly provide personal and sensitive Mainstreet data to third-party AI providers for unrestricted general-model training.
17. ANALYTICS, COOKIES, SDKS, AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Mainstreet and its service providers may use cookies, software development kits (“SDKs”), local storage, authentication tokens, pixels, and similar technologies to:
• keep users signed in;
• maintain security;
• remember preferences;
• diagnose technical problems;
• measure use;
• detect fraud;
• improve performance; and
• understand how Mainstreet is used.
We do not permit these technologies to be used to sell personal and sensitive Mainstreet data or for cross-context behavioral advertising inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.
Information collected by SDKs and other third-party code used in Mainstreet is included in the data practices covered by this Privacy Policy.
18. APPLE AND GOOGLE
If you download Mainstreet from Apple's App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google may independently collect information about your device, downloads, purchases, subscriptions, or use of their services.
Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
RMSP's App Store privacy disclosures and Google Play Data Safety disclosures are intended to accurately reflect Mainstreet's actual data practices.
If Mainstreet's data practices change materially, RMSP will update applicable disclosures as required.
19. DATA MINIMIZATION
RMSP seeks to collect and retain information reasonably related to operating Mainstreet and carrying out the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We seek to avoid collecting information merely because it is technically available.
Where an objective can reasonably be accomplished using less sensitive information, aggregated information, de-identified information, or a verification result rather than underlying records, RMSP may use those methods.
20. DATA SECURITY
RMSP uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
These measures may include:
• encrypted transmission of information;
• access controls;
• authentication controls;
• logging and monitoring;
• security testing;
• vendor-security requirements;
• restricted access to sensitive information; and
• incident-response procedures.
No internet-connected system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.
If applicable law requires notification concerning a data-security incident, RMSP will provide required notification.
21. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including legal, regulatory, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.
For example:
• Account information may be retained while your account is active and for a limited period following account deletion.
• Subscription and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, dispute, and legal purposes.
• Political contribution records may be retained for periods required by applicable campaign-finance law.
• Voter-verification records may be retained while necessary to maintain verification integrity or meet legal and security requirements.
• Community Content associated with a deleted account will generally be deleted or de-identified, subject to legal, security, moderation, and technical exceptions.
• Moderation and security records may be retained when necessary to prevent abuse, enforce prior bans, investigate misconduct, or protect users and RMSP.
• Consent and opt-out records may be retained as necessary to demonstrate compliance.
• Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until overwritten through normal backup cycles.
We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
22. ACCOUNT DELETION
Mainstreet members may request deletion of their account.
Mainstreet will provide:
1. a readily discoverable method within the Mainstreet application to initiate account deletion; and
2. a publicly accessible webpage through which a user may request account deletion. Account deletion webpage: [INSERT URL]
When you delete your account, RMSP will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account except where information must or may lawfully be retained for purposes such as:
• tax or accounting requirements;
• campaign-finance requirements;
• fraud prevention;
• security;
• enforcement of Mainstreet rules;
• litigation or legal claims;
• compliance with law; or
• other legitimate legal obligations.
Where service providers hold information on our behalf, we will direct them to delete applicable account information when required.
Deleting your Mainstreet account may not automatically cancel a recurring subscription billed through Apple, Google, or another payment service. You may also need to cancel the recurring subscription through the applicable payment provider.
Mainstreet will provide instructions concerning subscription cancellation where applicable.
23. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES
Mainstreet members may request to:
• access personal information associated with their account;
• correct inaccurate account information;
• update profile information;
• change communication preferences;
• obtain a copy of certain information;
• delete their account; and
• request deletion of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions. Requests may be made through Mainstreet or by contacting:
Privacy Contact: [EMAIL ADDRESS]
Web Form: [URL]
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
24. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending upon where you reside and the laws that apply to RMSP, you may have additional privacy rights.
These may include the right to:
• confirm whether personal information is being processed;
• access personal information;
• correct inaccuracies;
• delete personal information;
• obtain a portable copy;
• opt out of certain sales of personal information;
• opt out of certain targeted advertising;
• opt out of certain automated profiling;
• limit certain uses of sensitive information;
• withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; and
• appeal the denial of a privacy request.
RMSP intends to provide Mainstreet members reasonable access, correction, and deletion mechanisms regardless of whether a particular state law requires them, subject to legal exceptions.
Where applicable law requires RMSP to recognize an authorized agent or legally recognized opt-out preference signal, RMSP will do so as required.
RMSP will not discriminate against a member for exercising a privacy right protected by applicable law.
25. SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION
Certain information processed by Mainstreet may be regarded as sensitive under applicable law, including information that reveals or permits an inference concerning political opinions.
We process such information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:
• operating the virtual town hall;
• facilitating political and policy discussion;
• personalizing relevant content;
• understanding member interests;
• communicating concerning public policy and elections;
• maintaining security; and
• advancing RMSP's organizational mission.
Where applicable law requires consent before particular processing of sensitive information, RMSP will obtain that consent.
We do not sell sensitive Mainstreet information for commercial data-broker or behavioral-advertising purposes.
26. COMMUNICATIONS PREFERENCES AND WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT
You may change certain communication preferences at any time.
Where processing is based on consent and applicable law gives you the right to withdraw that consent, you may do so using the applicable account setting, communication mechanism, or privacy request process.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before the withdrawal.
Certain processing may be necessary to provide Mainstreet. If you withdraw consent necessary for a particular feature, that feature may no longer be available to you.
27. REFERRAL PROGRAM
Mainstreet may offer incentives such as free membership periods for referring new members.
Referral rewards are intended to encourage membership and are not payment for the sale of your personal information.
Any referral program will be governed by its applicable terms.
28. CHILDREN AND MINORS
Mainstreet is intended for adults age 18 or older.
We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to maintain Mainstreet membership accounts.
If we learn that an individual under 18 has provided personal information through an account in violation of Mainstreet's eligibility requirements, we may suspend or delete the account and associated information, subject to legal requirements.
Parents or guardians who believe a minor has improperly created an account may contact us at: [PRIVACY EMAIL]
29. UNITED STATES SERVICE
Mainstreet is intended primarily for eligible users in the United States.
Information may be stored and processed in the United States.
If you access Mainstreet from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose privacy laws differ from those where you are located.

• campaign websites;
• candidate websites;
• government websites;
• news organizations;
• social-media services;
• payment processors;
• event-registration services;

• other third-party services.
Once you leave Mainstreet or intentionally interact with a third-party service, that third party's privacy policy may govern its collection and use of information.
RMSP is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that operate independently from Mainstreet.
31. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as Mainstreet evolves, our vendors change, applicable laws change, or our data practices change.
When we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by applicable law. Depending on the nature of the change, notice may be provided through:
• Mainstreet;
• email;
• push notification;
